Alana Beharry (CCO Missionary)

A. BeharrySpending nine years in university studying opera, I never expected God to call my to missionary work on the university campuses of Canada! I had a personal encounter with Jesus as a university student and my life definitely changed for the better. Now, I get to see lives changed every day in the students that I work with on campus. I love my job! I served two years as a missionary at the Newman House at Queen’s University before coming to Ryerson. I love my home city of Toronto! It’s good to be back.

My first saint friend was St. Therese of Lisieux. I have chosen my patron saint to St. Theresa of Avila. And my mother is the Queen of Saints, Mother Mary. I love the female saints and how God reveals truth, beauty, and goodness through their feminine hearts. My saint friends also include Blessed Cardinal Newman, St. Gianna Beretta Molla, and St. John Paul the Great.

As for Toronto restaurants, I’m Italian so I have to go with Marcello’s Pizzeria. Oh, so good!
